Ballet Cymru (Welsh Ballet) have announced that, new for their 2012 season, they will be extensively touring a double-bill programme of new ballets to the music of Patterson’s Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs.

“These family works are based on popular children’s storyteller, Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes.  Adapted from the internationally recognised musical scores by composer Paul Patterson, which were commissioned by The Dahl Foundation, Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs have become children’s classics played all over the globe. The Little Red Riding Hood score featured in the 2006 BBC Christmas Day Special featuring the voices of Ian Holm, Julie Walters and Danny DeVito.  Now Patterson’s dazzling scores are being set to dance for the first time.

Ballet Cymru bring to life these timeless stories using the company’s unique blend of classical technique and storytelling. With stunning costumes, breathtaking choreography and laugh-out-loud humour this production is an imaginative evening of beautiful dance for lovers of ballet and original storytelling.
